Na de studie van persoonlijkheidskenmerken sterk te hebben gereduceerd en ze te hebben gecategoriseerd in 5 belangrijke kenmerken, werd het concept van deze test in 1981 ge\u00efntroduceerd door Lewis Golberg, die de naam \"Big Five\" gaf aan de vijf belangrijkste persoonlijkheidskenmerken.<\/p>\n

Het concept werd verder ontwikkeld door Costa en McCrae tussen 1987 en 1992.<\/p>\n
